I noticed that the Travel Channel has a new 4x4 show on Sunday. Not having seen it I can only hope it might be worth a look. http://travel.discovery.com/schedule/episode.jsp?episode=0&cpi=85873

I'll have to check that out. That will give me something to do during the blizzard tomorrow. Thanks

FWIW, I thought 1 hour show was one of the better ones showing 4x4s. They had mud-bogging in Arkansas, UROC rock-crawling in Cedar City, and SCORE racing in Baja. The next showings are 2/22 at 10pm est and 2/23 at 1am est.

I thought the show was great! Had a nice variety of different kinds of 'wheelin; mud bogs, rock crawling, baja racing. My only beef with it was that everything was refered to as a "Jeep". Even when they were talking about the guy's Suzuki Samurai and the winner's Toyota truck, it was "now his Jeep...".

I will be catching the show regularly if they're all like that episode. I'd encourage others to see it to..... what else are you going to do at 1am Monday morning <img border="0" alt="[Yawn]" title="" src="graemlins/yawn.gif" />

Alert for the squeemish: At the Arkansas event a copilot gets his hand caught in the winch <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="images/icons/shocked.gif" /> <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="images/icons/shocked.gif" /> <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="images/icons/shocked.gif" /> it's not pretty to watch him scream as his hand gets mangled <img border="0" alt="[Barf]" title="" src="graemlins/barf.gif" />

I just hope they were able to repair his hand...

A quick search found this episode, but none others.

Jeez - you'd think with all this hoopla about these newfangled SUV things, shows like this would attain a little more popularity. Then again, all you have to do is watch commercials for the offroading crap. Like the Honda going around the tunnel - notice that there's no road or trail, or the 4Runner at Everest? No trail. Or the Chevy dualie with the buffalo? No trail. Or the Jeep Liberty Renegade - a slap in the face to the original Renegade - going "offroad" to get to the nightclub. The list goes on...

My parents want to "ban all SUVs". So I took 'em wheeling, making sure to talk to them about "slow as possible, fast as necessary", parked and then hiked around some stuff it would have taken us all day to get to (read: Go Farther <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="images/icons/grin.gif" /> ) and took a few years off my mom's life with some easy descents and off-camber stuff. They still want to ban SUV's, but not our trucks.

That show was great!! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="images/icons/grin.gif" /> <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="images/icons/grin.gif" /> its about time our sport not more TV time. and did you her them say that its one of the fastest growing sports today <img border="0" title="" alt="[Razz]" src="images/icons/tongue.gif" /> So hello Isuzu, make more vehicles for this fast growing sport, like you use to back in the good old days.

Maybe it was just my imagination, but I could swear that I saw an Isuzu badge in there somewhere. Not positive, but I'm pretty sure I saw a glimpse of a badge that said Isuzu. Maybe it's just wishful thinking and a rampant imagination coupled by late night and little sleep.

Yeah I saw that part. I must admit that I kinda flinched when I saw that. Another thing I noticed that it seemed like the buy in for this event was in the hundred? I know first place was in the thousands. What did you all think about the guy with the flat tire, but was so determined to make it up the muddy hill even at the cost of destroying his wheel.

Even my wife got mad at the guy for calling everything a "jeep", and she isnt really into wheelin!!!!

She especially got mad at the guy for calling the old Land Cruiser a "jeep". <img border="0" title="" alt="[Roll Eyes]" src="images/icons/rolleyes.gif" />

I also liked the part during the Baja race where the unlimited truck almost took out the civilian Chevy driving by. Talk about a close call!!

I think we should all drop a email to the channel and say thanks and maybe they would make more!?!? <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="images/icons/grin.gif" />
