Well, before everyone jumps ship, remember that these are rumors. The Trooper was due for a change in about 2000, so 2003 isn't too far off.
It is news to me about the Amigo/Rodeo - doesn't make sense to me since they have a plant here for those.
We shall see...
-Tad

The Rodeo switch I'd guess wouldn't be til 2004 or 2005MY. Funny thing is they are supposed to be continuing to produce OUR Troopers for the rest of the world, just not the US after 2002 [Linked Image]
-mike
------------------
'97 Rodeo -> '00 Trooper LS
ECB Nudge Bar, Hella 4000s Eurobeam w/City Light, Hidden Hitch, Hella Triple Trumpet Horns, OME Rear Springs, Rancho 9000 Shocks, Tinted Front Windows
'88 Subaru XT6
'88 Mazda MX6
http://isuzu-suvs.com

What I still can't understand is why it's such a bad thing that the Isuzu's may take on GM chassis's... That means, at the very least, V-8 power for troopers and 270hp straight six's for rodeo's and amigo's, ahem, RS's. Not to mention there won't be any trouble finding aftermarket accessories anymore. But then again, I do kinda like having to rack my brain for ideas every time I think of another modification [Linked Image]
My .02
Rusty

Why you ask is it a bad thing...
Well let's see...
A-Arm Recall
Fit & Finish on American Cars generally SUCKs
Other than that, yeah the aftermarket will be nice to have.
-mike
------------------
'97 Rodeo -> '00 Trooper LS
ECB Nudge Bar, Hella 4000s Eurobeam w/City Light, Hidden Hitch, Hella Triple Trumpet Horns, OME Rear Springs, Rancho 9000 Shocks, Tinted Front Windows
'88 Subaru XT6
'88 Mazda MX6
http://isuzu-suvs.com

I don't personally think that anything is to be told by the amount of recalls; on the contrary, I think that it's a good thing to have recalls. No vehicle will ever be perfect and it's good to know that some companies don't let things slide, such as an intake manifold gasket not being recalled... "fit and finish?" Hmm, I guess that means mine sucks too since the "fit and finish" was done in Indiana.
My .02
Rusty

[This message has been edited by Silent Bob (edited 14 June 2001).]

Isuzu cars disppeared a few years ago, the pickup is gone (now just an S-10 with an Isuzu badge stuck on it). If the Trooper becomes a rebadged full size and the Rodeo a re-badged Envoy, how long before there's nothing available actually made by Isuzu.
I have nothing againest GM, my second car is a Buick, but I can't anything good about reduced choices.
Don't believe me? Go down to Mazda dealer and try to buy a truck that's actually built by Mazda. They are all rebadged Fords.
IMHO
Paul
