Really would like to see a 4X4 along this line in the US. Like was mentioned above alot of the cost is in all the "standard" features that are infesting vehicles these days. The cost to build a good "BASIC" 4X4 really wouldn't be that high. Start adding power/heated seats, power windows,power door lock, A/C, Power mirrows, rear window defog/wipers, ABS, SRS, GPS, keyless entry, TOD/shift-on-the-fly,multi-disc CD, backup sensors, carpet, sound proofing, 8 different colors, 3 different interiors, tilt steering wheel, cruise control, aux power points, intermittant wipers, 15 cup holders, 4 wheel disc brakes. 10 interior lights, power sun roof, remote hood release. There goes the price.
