My brother just bought my dad's '91 Land Cruiser (Dad upgraded to a '94 with the 24valve engine) and he's been looking into the possibility of using an Isuzu NPR engine - four banger turbo diesel. Apparently they both use the same transmission. But that may just be foke lore since he knows of none that have been done (and he knows his Cruisers this was his last one http://www.angelfire.com/id/v8j60/forsale.html and it doesn't even mentin the JDM 5-spd).

Anyway - I've often wondered what the possibility of using a Isuzu medium duty truck diesel in a Trooper was. Anyone have any idea?

If not, I'm just going to keep hoping for the crosslander.
