Beneath a saber keen,
Or in a roaring charge of fierce melee,
You stop a bullet clean,
And the hostiles come to get your scalp,
Just empty your canteen,
And put your pistol to your head
And go to fiddlers Green."

I love that quote. Several years ago, an obviously agitated individual eyed me (white) and my girlfriend (black) as we were fueling up the Amigo, and he made a few disparaging comments to his friend. He had a big pickup truck, Dixie flags, and big lettering(*) "If you're not a redneck, you ain't ....something." As we were getting in the Amigo to go and he was still fueling, I pointed out to my girlfriend that using logic, his sign meant that all rednecks were ".....something."

The Amigo's not fast, so I got out quick and changed direction when we were out of sight. Discretion is the better part of valor, and cowardice is (sometimes) the best part of discretion, and running fast/hiding deep is the better part of cowardice.

I'd use even more coward....er, discretion in front of a full bird Col. bragging about his job. . <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/ignore.gif" alt="" />
I've been a private and scrubbed my toilets and am in no hurry to do it again!

(*) my disclaimer: I take no offense and have no problems with non-racist interest in Confederate lives and times, and the Jeff Foxworthy definition of Redneck (of which I've been accused myself as I drive around with spare parts and fluids in back). That's *not* what this person was advocating. (Added since I seem to get misunderstood so much and cause so much trouble.)

[color:"white"]? 04 Rodeo DI ?[/color] 75k mi, body damage on the 1st weekend I got it.
