I'm very interested in the rear bumber. I now have the 3" Body lift on, and a bracket for that would be a must. Other than that, I haven't chimed in because I've been spending too much already.... <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="images/icons/grin.gif" /> But I am interested in the rear bumper. Just kinda short on the fundage for now. I kinda skimmed but didnn't find the supposed completetion date... Like 30 days or so from conception? Thanks.

I believe that someone indicated that they would put up an extra deposit if $ was tight for someone right now.

Not that I want to be stuck with two bumpers, but, in good spirit, I would offer to front a deposit for someone that is serious about getting the bumper. So if you really want one, but don't have the $ right now (but will have in 2 months <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="images/icons/grin.gif" /> ) e-mail me.

Also, Calmini is looking into a freight rate on all the bumpers. They will total all the shipping charges and divide by 15, or whatever the number may be. If possible, I would advise that people living near each other consider having 2 or more bumpers shipped to one location, and then distributed from there, to help keep cost down. Just a thought. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="images/icons/wink.gif" />

<strong>I now have the 3" Body lift on, and a bracket for that would be a must.</strong>
Much as I would like someone else to jump in (and quick <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="images/icons/shocked.gif" /> ), I think the bracket would be tough, considering the bumper has all the attachment points of a bumper and a Class III hitch. But consider this (sales pitch mode on), there are precious few other heavy-duty rear bumpers available for the 2nd/3rd Gen. Troopers. Wouldn't it be easier to engineer the brackets later, after you've already got the hardest part done for you??? <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="images/icons/grin.gif" /> <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="images/icons/grin.gif" /> <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="images/icons/grin.gif" />

I've pasted the specs below, including the expected lead time. All we need to get this thing rolling is two more deposits, then just 8 short weeks and bingo, you're sporting the latest in Trooper accessories.
Just think of the exclusivity! Only 14(ish) other people will have this item. (As an added bonus, try finding a Jeeper who can say that about ANYTHING on their vehicle. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Razz]" src="images/icons/tongue.gif" /> )

Bumper specs:
-3/16" thick main shell.
- 2" receiver hitch rated class III. Safety chain hooks.
- Two - 5/16" shackle tabs.
- Semi-gloss black powder coat.
- Clears a 33" tire
- Cost $450.00.
- 25% non-refundable deposit in accordance
with agreed upon lead time.
- 15 unit minimum.
- Lead time - 8 weeks from receipt of 15th deposit.
- Fits 1992-2002 Trooper

Hope this helps (talk you into it <img border="0" alt="[Satan]" title="" src="graemlins/satan.gif" /> )
Kevin

Body Damage is Cool
Good idea about the shipping locations <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="images/icons/wink.gif" /> I'm in Coeur d'Alene Idaho/ very close to Spokane Washington. Any Spokanites on our list?

Well, I'm closest to Sam98Trooper in MO or TrooperMark in VA.

Not *really* close. But we'll see what happens. I like to travel! You know, I promised my wife a long weekend in July for her B-day. It just might be with a bumper in my trunk! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="images/icons/grin.gif" />

Sorry guys this shipping thing is going to be too much of a mess for me to try to consolidate. Calmini may not want to mess with it either since it will be more complicated for them. Go ahead and pursue it if you want, but I'm going to pass.

Before pursuing with Calmini, I'd wait til we get to 15.

Pinoy said he might get in on this if needed to hit 15.

Jim, not asking for you to do it. It would be a function of individuals calling and just changing the drop address. 9-10 drop addresses would cut shipment costs as opposed to 15 separate addresses. But, if we are so wide spread, maybe not worth the effort. I guess we won't know until we see the shipping costs.

Guys, this one slides in under a grandfather clause, but it is drifting too far afield for my taste. Our new Group Buy policy is at: http://www.outdoorwire.com/ubb/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=68;t=007199

One of the things we wanted to avoid was folks working out the cash and shipping on the board.... I'm going to continue to be flexible on this one grand-fathered thread, but can you please take the shipping discussions to email?

Thanks,

Randii

Sorry guys, but I have to take myself out of this project. I called Calmini to place my deposit today and got bad news. Approximately $250 to ship it to Maryland. For $700 I can wait until INDEPENDENT 4x or someone else tees up a rear bumper. I can drive to Brooklyn. In fact, I will probably buy an ARB Bull Bar now instead. I wanted to get the rear bumper first, but, it doesn't make sense now.

Good luck.

Yikes! I had no idea shipping would be that much. I was already treading on thin ice with the wife and if my shipping is that much, it's gonna hurt a lot more. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Frown]" src="images/icons/frown.gif" />
Is there a way to make the shipping less?
