how can that be right! $250 from LA to Mayland <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="images/icons/confused.gif" /> i only paid $50 for shiping when i got my ARB, and they shiped it from NY to seattle! the $250 must be 2nd day air mail or something.

I don't know. Maybe the guy I spoke to at Calmini didn't have a clue and just pulled a number out of the air (or somewhere else...). If that's the case he is not doing a great job representing his company. I just got a 90# parcel shipped from Nebraska to MD for about $30. If it turns out to be less, (even $100 I could swallow), I'm still in. If anyone has any expertise in this area I'd like to hear from them.

Sniggoc,
I had an ARB winch bumper shipped from LA to MD in January of this year. It ran around $100-120 I believe. It definitely is not cheap considering the bumper is crated in it's own little coffin for protection. It also made a difference whether it was shipped to a residential or commercial address - commercial address being cheaper of course.
Good luck,

Are these rear bumpers a total bolt on deal or is there any drilling/welding involved?

It's my understanding that it's a simple bolt-on deal that any lay-person (i.e. me) can do himself. No welding or anything. Buy it! You know you want it. Getting back to the shipping thing, this needs to be settled before my credit card gets hit for the deposit. If it's $250, then I'll just drive up to Calmini and pick mine up. I don't want to sound cheap but adding the shipping charges and dividing by 15 may sound good to someone who lives east of the mississippi but to a San Diegan it hurts. Bottom line is I am not willing to pay that much, or anywhere near that much, to ship a bumper 250 miles. BTW, Independent 4X4 will ship their front bumper, which weighs considerably more, anywhere in the country for $100.00. Time for Calmini to get another shipper!

People, people, lets not bicker and argue about who killed who....This is supposed to be...a happy occasion!
I think it was a mis-quote. So hold onto your panties and lets wait for Calmini/Jim to post once they get it figured out.

....But he's killed the bride's father!
Actually, I made a mistake in my last. Darlington Off Road will ship for $100.00. I don't know about Independant 4X4. I will be calling Calmini this morning to try and figure this mess out.

I talked to Calmini today and here's the deal. The $250 shipping was taken out of context or misunderstood. It cost $250 to ship two front bumpers for an X-terra to the east coast. This info was offered as an example of a way to save on the shipping by piggybacking two shipments. I was told that while Calmini is still working out the exact cost for shipping, it should not be more than $150 for anyone. They will give each of you your exact shipping cost once they know exactly how much it is going to weigh. Someone suggested that we total the shipping and divide by 15. Calmini would rather not do this and I would rather not do this. If a couple of you can combine your shipping it will save you money but you need to work that out with Calmini individually. I also found out that Trooperdude bailed so we are down to 12. Calmini is going to stick to 15 since their original deal was for 20. I hope this clears the air a little. Still need three more orders though. Jim, I'm passing the batton back to you. Hope I was able to help out a little.

Here is an idea. I posted the info with a link here twice on edmunds BB only to have it deleted. After some arguing, they agreed to allow a post with some basic info an someone to post there email address for further info. At that point the person could be directed here but no links here posted there. So if someone is willing to handle this it might help.
Any other boards we could post on?
