I've got some bad news fellas. One of us dropped out of the buy. We need one more for Calmini to proceed. Don't know who it is and it really doesn't matter. What matters is we need to beat the bushes again and see what we can come up with. Jim, Dave requested you contact him concerning this matter. Maybe a compromise can be reached with Calmini. I didn't broach this subject with Dave. Sure would hate to see this thing fall through after all the work put into it.

Any/all Southern California Trooper guys - I live/work in Anaheim and would be more than willing to have the bumpers shipped to my place of work and you could then get them from me if you want.

Anybody interested in this can email me offline:

lttlbddy@aol.com

I haven't looked through this entire thread to know how many So Cal people are involved.

Better yet, once you get this order together, why not drive to Bakersfield and go do a group pickup? For the cost of shipping, you guys could have a nice day out, do some off roading in the Los Padres National Forest.

Sorry, no solution for the Out of State guys.

Latest from Calmini:

Just got off the phone with David. If there's anyone out there who's thinking about getting this bumper and hasn't put a deposit down, please think seriously about it now,... here's why:

SEMA is the first week in October. Calmini needs to make a good showing there, as does anybody making a living in the aftermarket business. If we can't get a 15th deposit rounded up in fairly short order, the lead time may (MAY, I said) change due to Calmini's previous commitments to have other vehicles ready for the expo, most of which requiring custom work.

Before you ask about the lead time, I did. The original time frame was given in good faith, considering how far out SEMA was at the time. In all honesty guys, it has been a month since this "continued" post was started, and I don't even begin to remember when the original thread was posted.

Point is, we need to beat the bushes for another deposit, we are only missing one. Maybe some of the guys who were undecided can jump in and rescue this thing.

Regards,
Kevin

P.S.: Jim, I think David would like for you to give him a call about this.

My, my, the grace and kindness of folks on this board are unmatched in the wheelin' and non-wheelin' worlds.....

Thanks a long tonne, Steve. I already offered to bring back bumpas at NO CHARGE to my abode in Villa Park (a tiny burg near Anaheim) but so far only Andrew James has followed up... his'n and my'n will feel lonely in transit without your'n. whoever else wants to come only as far as Orange County for pickup. i intend to finagle a day of fin angling in the not-so-distant Kern River prior to snagging the Calmini bumpas. As in the Leo Kottke tune "A Trout Toward Noon" for which BTW I'll offer note-for-note transcription and slow plus full speed lesson/playing for any fellow Kottke players/fans on the board (and any other of the many Kottke tunes I've worked up. Trolling for players on the board!!)

Back to TOPic-- thanks for your generosity Steve, and the initiative and effort of Jim et al to pull this together. Now, won't somebody jump in on this, or am I going to have to double up so the rest of us can get our dad-gum bumpers built? hate to have to try and sneak an extra bumper past SWMBO until some late-start gets motivated.

email thru PM if you'd like OC pickup.

Cheers!!

I'll call Calmini tomorrow.
I deserve this after staying at home and working when I was suppose to be in Moab. Sometimes being a 'grown-up' REALLY SUCKS!
See ya, Rick W.
