I've read that if you can only afford one locker, it's best to start with a rear locker.

But I've also read that if you already have an LSD rear (I do) that you should lock the front first. Which is it?

This past Sunday, I almost got stuck in about three feet of slimy, soupy mud...more like liquid clay, if you know what I mean. The pit was deeper than I thought. I was going fine, slippin' and sliding around, when all of a sudden, the front of truck sunk. Like a stone. Put it this way, there was only about three inches of the top of my front tires visible...and I have 285/70's! The front bumper was completely covered, halfway up the grill. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="images/icons/shocked.gif" />

I got out by nailing it in reverse. 4 LO, tranny in low gear, and just wailing on the gas and cranking the steering left-right-left.

There's no doubt in my mind that my tires are what got me out, but if I was locked, I'd have been out of there a few minutes sooner.
