I have had a weird deal going on the past 2 days in my 85 Toyota. I've started getting less and less clutch pressure every time I get in the truck. The clutch isn't grabbing near the top like before. The clutch is only a year old Centerforce unit. I checked the reservoir and the fluid is still full but kinda dark. The only thing else I can figure is the slave is going bad. Think so? I also thought maybe there was some water in the fluid b/c it's been like 6 degrees here for a couple of days and maybe there's some freezing of the fluid? Any way to check the slave cylinder? I did a search and didn't find anything. Thanks!

I think my slave cylinder is going bad also. The rubber boot around the cylinder and the rod is full of fluid like the seals inside are going bad.

I have no visible leaks at the slave cylinder or the master cylinder. I checked both the inside and outside of the firewall for leaks. Plus, the fluid level is still good...

Have somebody push in the clutch while you watch the slave. See if you have travel. At the same time you should blead the system to see if that helps.

They are not that expensive BTW. That dark fluid calls for a change anyway.
