I just replaced the alternator on my 3.2L V-6 this past February. It was a PITA, but definitely do-able. It took me 2 hours just to remove the old one. Half of that was spent trying to figure out how I was gonna manuever that sucker out of its nook after everything was disconnected.

I ended up having to undo the radiator hose and remove the upper fan shroud. I also had to remove my front passenger-side tire to get at one of the connections.

Bought mine used at All Hyundai and Isuzu for $95 (an extra $20 gets you a lifetime warranty). But if you don't want to wait for shipping, sounds like Autozone is your best bet.
