How did you notice this, did your AT Temp light come on?

Body Damage is Cool
Hey Mark whazzuuup!
Actualy what've happend my t-case shifter popped out of the 4WD & was in neutral (that's why i didn't have any power to the wheels).

But the ATF fluid on the ground realy made me scratch my head.

I'm gonna get a t-cooler as soon as i can come up with the time to install it.

It did not come on, it was when I turned the key on and all of them come on for a sec. I was actually looking to confirm what was there since you had posted that.

It didn't come on at all? I think they are all supposed to come on during that test. Maybe the bulb is out? That would be too bad if it was, because then you might have overheated the tranny without knowing.

My guess is water in the tranny. This could cause the fluid to boil over and out the vents. I saw this happen with DougHs tranny on the mitsu.

Yes water in tranny will cause fluid to spew out all over the place. I once had to retrieve a boat that was taking on water, which meant submerging the trailer rather deep Water entered trough the breather tubes. Then on the tow home it boiled over making a mess of the truck and the boat. Have since extended the breather lines to a higher location and performed the trans flush and refil.

It did not come on in terms of a real warning. Yeah it came on with all the other ones during the test though. That was how I noticed it.

I dont think my case was water. It has been over a year since I went through any deep water with it and I've done a LOT of towing since.

FWIW, I had Mobil 1 Synthetic AT fluid in there when this happened.

It seems fine now. It has been going fine for 3 weeks now after re-filling it. I still dont understand why neither of the warning lights came on the first day when alll the probelems started or why it puked out 4 quarts of fluid, but I'm sure happy the trans isnt fried.
