I’m sure you all remember the scene in the movie ‘Smokey and the Bandit’, where Jerry Reed’s character, ‘The Snowman’, has just gotten is arse thoroughly kicked in that biker bar… He just barely managed to drag himself back to his rig. --- Then you see the look of pain and anguish on his face quickly change to one of menace, as he erupts with laughter, and exacts his revenge by running over the entire row of motorcycles…
Well, is it just me, or has anyone else found themselves laughing exactly like that, every single time they get in their`Zu, after raising it the full 3 + 3-inches?
I am truly amazed that I am so easily swayed toward such a puffed-up mentality, but there it is, nonetheless. --- The fact is, I actually don’t even have to climb aboard… Sometimes I find myself just looking at it and getting a silly grin, as if I were heavily medicated.
If anyone here cares to search for the comment… Soon after joining the Online Isuzu Community, I seem to recall that I once stated that I had no interest, whatsoever, in raising my Rodeo the full 6-inches, and that I’d be perfectly content with just the 3-inch suspension lift.
--- Yeah… Well let this be a lesson to all of you weekend warriors out there who have uttered similar sentiments…
Isuzu modification is highly addictive, and once you’ve started, the lure to continue is ever-present… It’s a slippery slope to which you soon have very little (if any) immunity or self-control.
For instance, in my case, I now have a set of 32-inch tall M/T tires, a 3-inch suspension lift, and I’ve only just recently completed the body lift… Already my mind wanders toward such things as Tera Low gears, selectable lockers, front & rear steel bumpers, a solid axle swap, larger tires, and a whole host of other things.
--- Ain’t it great to be young and insane?
And so what’s the moral of the story? --- Well, let’s just say that I’ve now joined the ranks of those very same people who once jeered me for declaring that I wasn’t going to modify my rig ’that much’. --- I suppose in the future that I too will be saying “Yeah, right!” to an awful lot of people.
Cheers!
