I'd avoid 4WP at all costs...they sell only genuine gear, which is well known in the gear world as the worst money can buy. Don' t be swayed by the "lifetime guarantee," since you have to pay for labor. I got Precision Gears installed at drivetrain direct in Corona. They are a distributor for superior gear, but I insisted on Precision since I've heard only good things about Precision and US Gear (I think precision makes V6 gears...you definitely want V6 gears. DO NOT use 4 cyl gears and shim them, which is what many shops do). I've heard mixed things about Yukon, Superior, Richmond gears. I think Yukon and Precision are the only companies that make V6 gears (I might be mistaken...check their websites).

Whatever you do, get the work done at a shop that specialized in diffs. The guys at Drivetrain Direct do installs every day...there are two guys that do the installs (at least the day I was there). Otherwise, there's West Coast Differentials near Rancho Cordova.

Getting the Wheeling Fever
I don't know if he's still around, but Tom's Rear End's in Paramount (call 411 for the number) may still be around. We had him set up gears for roundy rounders and road cars a while back with perfect results. Perhaps a bit closer than corona and definitely R. Cordova.

Tom's Rear Ends, is that guy still in business? I had him setup my 12 bolt posi in
my 67 Camaro back in the late 70s. The guy is real good, he even deburred my
ring and pinion before assembling. After seeing his work and hearing him explan
how he tries to maximize the strength, I now always deburr my ring and pinions.

Anthony, I lost his business card years ago. If you find him, let me know.

ahh the plots thickens...
I called him..I think he's still in paramount. He told me to go to Southbay 4x4 on Rosecran in Hawthorne which was fine with me since it's closer yet.
I talked with him for a bit and I think I'll take my business to him.
I'll let you guys know how it turn out.
