markg, as far as i know the two engines used different tanks, as did the 4dr. that is what is making my search so difficult. i need to find a junked 2dr V6. if someone knows this not to be true, please correct me, but everywhere i've called asked if i had the 4 or the 6. any calls anyone could make to their local parts yard would be greatly appreciated. hopefully i'll be taking a roadtrip this weekend in the trooper and coming home with a gas tank for the real truck.
