Our approach is to drive on the snow, not through it. It can be anywhere from a few cm to 5 meters or more. Here we use up to 44" tires with down to 3psi pressure. A light truck can do the same on 35" or even 33" depending on the type of snow.
Icelanders have crossed the Greenland icecap in such trucks and used them in Antactica. There is no limit to what they can do on snow.
