The airflow valve that closes when coolant warms up is closed by a thermo-wax spring in the throttle body (on some models). Coolant is routed to the throttle body, and when it warms it causes this spring to close the airflow valve. If these coolant hoses are clogged it might prevent coolant from flowing and keep your idle high. If you just worked on the radiator there might be trapped pockets of gunk in there.
On other models, it's done differently, so I don't know about yours, but you might see that the hoses are free of crud. good luck!

MtnFreak might have nailed it early on. I adjusted the idle down, just by ear, and it seemed to help everything overall. No more fluctuations at warm idle.

When I changed the radiator I flushed the system out so it probably wasn't the coolant sensors. But a good idea and one I'll keep in mind for the future.

Dajabr: Sent a Postal M.O. just a few days after receiving the gauge you sent. Sent it to the address that was on the box it came in. It really pi**es me off too because you mailed so quickly. Any now some one has a MO for 22 and change. I'll have to get the receipt and check w the PO to see what happened. Should have asked a little sooner - you probably think I'm a real jerk. Sorry to use this thread for OT but for some reason board wouldn't let me send private EM. Redd.

Yes I got that one a while ago, thought you meant a recent email. Thanks for the surprise MO, was at the PO to send in my taxes and cashed it to pay for that postage. Sorry for not responding, I thought I had, certainly should have.

Phew , good , glad you got it. The P.O. here in my area is a tower of babble to say the least and have screwed some major things up for me as of recent so I'm poised to blame them immediately for everything. My wife works for a local utility and told me last night that they couldn't figure out how come they were getting so many angry customers calling wondering why they were shut off--- until the PO called and said they'd found a whole box of shut-off notices shoved away in the corner somewhere.
