Better yet, tell as all the details of what you did. I have been thinking about doing this for a while, but with all the BS over at POR there were never any straight answers.

I also am considering do a spring swap. I currently have 7" Skyjackers but they are too stiff. They are 50" though.

I just rebuilt the rear frame on my '84 Extra cab and would like to do the spring swap now since I have to weld on new front hangers anyway.

So ball park 4" of lift....is that with or without extended shackles?

FWIW, I am running 4" AllPro front springs with the AllPro front hanger, stock front shackles.
I had a 5" block on the stock Toy rear springs until I did the Chevy rears swap.
Using CJ spring mounts for the Chevys and a 7" Chevy drop shackle, my truck is level.

Weld spring hangers app. 11 inches forward of stock. Build 10 inch shackles, bolt in springs, drill two holes in round tube frame crossmember for bolts for upper shock mounts, put in shocks. And then the best part, get a really long rear brake line, or bolt in two of them.

I would not want to go with any less leafs than you did. (to soft).

I can only think of maybe a smaller rear shackel?

I have no lift in the front of my 87. I would like to do the chevy swap, but like you, I do not want to have the rear jacked to the moon.

3 months ago, I purchaced a Pro-comp lift used on this board ( and the Rockstomper travel kit) but I have not installed it yet as I would rather go with chevies than the rear pro-comp blocks. Seeing your truck not only gets me motivated (pumped!) to get going, but also helps me see exactly how much rear lift you got. This has been hard information to find as most chevy swappers are SAS.
