I assumed all T-100s were made in the U.S. Now I understand they were all actually made by Hino Motors, Ltd. in Tokyo, Japan. That doesn't explain the U.S. model gear code on that particular vin. But what might explain it, is the fact that the rear diff is the Tacoma style, which is currently exclusively made for the U.S. assembled Tacoma.
As for the rear diff on the T-100, my understanding is that it's the same diff (but longer axles obviously) as the Tacoma. The front IFS diff should be indentical to the '86-'95 IFS trucks, except for the axles which are longer.
