There was a couple of feet of snow covering the trail. As he was going down it he drove into a washout he couldnt see. The back of the truck dropped in first, he gunned it and the ends swapped. They were VERY lucky that the two trees the truck came to rest on stopped them. The next stop was the bottom of the gorge 1000' away, no cliff just a long bumpy uncontrolled ride, with NO seatbelts
As it was they had a little over an hour walk to find help.
