Just so I understand.

1) If you are stuck and in 2wd you can put the truck in 4wd, which allows the front wheels to be able to turn (even though you aren't moving) thus locking the hubs?

2) If you shut the truck off while in 4wd, it will in fact still be in 4wd the next time you start, it just needs to be re-sensed to light the wheel lock light?

Sorry if this is pretty elementary stuff to most but I've never been clear on these two particular situations on a gen1.
