Roll Me Over
[color:"red"]Mitsubishi[/color] Torque Converter Bolts

There is an aftermarket warning out concerning these bolts which states that old torque converter bolts stretch over time which can damage the torque converter housing and internals if reused. In order to prevent this it is recommended that you should either 1) grind down the old bolts by a millimeter or two, or 2) purchase new bolts to use when installing your torque converter.

Though the warning concerns primarily lockup converters used in many (if not all) '91 and later Monteros, I believe I may have some experience with this problem with my old non-lockup torque converter. Having knowledge of the issue I decided it was easiest to purchase new bolts and I would urge you to do the same if you or your mechanic are performing work which will seperate the torque converter from the driveplate.

(6) MD950120* - Bolt, Transmission Connecting

*The part number may be different between model years but I'm 99% certain it is the same bolt. Also the bolt is standard not metric thread.

Part # Description QTY Price
------------------------------------------------------------------------
A1C132464 13-2464/MC39972 NEW MSTR CYL 1 $63.99

Rockauto, Cardone select master cylinder. This is a reboxed, japanese made, brand new NABCO part that is the same as part the factory sells. Basicly its a complete new unit for less money than the factory rebuild kit.

Fits 1990 Montero.

Body Damage is Cool
i copyed this from mister bishi's post for 5.29 gears,it sounds perfect for being in here.

Hey guys I have been bombarded with enquiries about these lately and I just can't keep up.
I've spoken to the supplier and he has agreed to deal directly with individual customers as I just haven't got the time anymore to expadite these purchases.
The company is WADC (West Australian Drive Components) http://www.wadc.com.au/
Contact is Vincent Gallucio vincent@wadc.com.au

His email as follows with prices :-

Dear Frank,

Pricing as follows.

MB241981 front 8ö CW&P = $540.00 Aus + tax (10%)

MB598486 rear 9ö CW&P = $640.00 Aus + tax (10%)

The above price does not include freight to Victoria.
Delivery time approximately 2 months from order confirmation.
It is possible to air freight the goods from Japan to US if you need them urgently. (additional cost)
Payment terms are the same as your previous order with 85% of the invoice total payable at the time of order confirmation, with the balance due at delivery into Australia.

Kind Regards

Vincent Galluccio

(WA Drive Components)

PS - I'm still happy to advise of the correct part number of 5.29 to make sure it's the right one.
Please bear in mind the Vincent doesn't know anything about what 5.29 fits what model he will only be able to quote on supply of a given part no.

Cheers, Frank.

Part numbers for the Aisin hubs.

[Linked Image]
Front Hub Handle Seal: Toyota 43532-60010
This is the O-ring that seals between the dial indicator and the hub cover.

[Linked Image]
Front Hub Cover Gasket: Toyota 43531-60010
This is the gasket that seals between the hub cover and the hub body.

[Linked Image]
Front hub cover bolts:
Mitsubishi MB160712
Toyota 91641-80616 (Same as Mitsu bolts, cost less)

These are the bolts that hold the hub cover to the hub body.

Thanks to DougB for the updated Toyota part numbers

Additionally, the inner gasket (the one which sits between the hublock assembly and the wheel hub) is Toyota part number 43422-60010. If you go to a Toyota parts department, let them know that all of these parts are found on Aisin manual locking hubs which came on 83-89 Toyota pickups. All these seals fit the Mitsubishi Aisin manual hubs perfectly.
