Roll Me Over
Here's a rough Babelfish translation:

I cannot avoid to cry. Hardly I see a person in the television set detailing the tragic lost history of having to one of his in the disaster of the Twin Towers, lose the control and it gives me to cry. But I wonder myself why I did not cry when our troops ended 5.000 people of low resources in the districts of the Chorrillo, in Panama, under the pretext to look for Noriega. Our leaders knew that Noriega was in another side, but ended up destroying the Chorrillo.

Because who lived there they were nationalists whom they loved to the United States outside its Panama. Or worse still, why I did not cry when we assassinated to two million Vietnameses, in its great majority farmers, a war planned by the Secretary of Defense, Robert MacNamara, who knew that there was no way to gain it. The other day I went to donate blood. There was a Cambodian doing the same, three in the row, and that made me remember: why I did not cry when the butcher of Pol Pot ended another million human beings, to whom we supported arming to him and money because he was enemy of our "enemies" (who possibly stopped the fields of the death)?

In order to be raised and to let to me cry, that night I went away to see a film. I decided to see Lumumba, in the Forum Film, and again I realized that had not cried when my government organized the murder of the only decent leader who the Congo has had, and in its place they put to general vile and killer Mobutu, avariento. Nor I cried when my government removed to Sukarno from Indonesia, defender of the independence of his country and hero of II the World war against the Japanese. We put in its place to Suharto, that under the trusteeship of the Japanese has worked in eliminating at least average million "Marxist" (in a country where if people have listened to speak of Marx, it will have been when much of Groucho and in the television set). Last night, watching the television set, it cried watching the image of that father who suffered the loss of his girl of two months. But when memory the deaths of thousands of Salvadorans, so graphically described by Ray Bonner, of the magazine Time, or the violations of the American nuns at hands of agents trained and paid by the company, nor a single tear I spilled.

I even cried when I heard how brave had been Barbara Olson, the wife of the General Solicitor, whose political positions I detest. But I did not cry when the United States invaded a wonderful island of the called Caribbean Granada and killed innocent civilians who hoped to improve their lives being constructed a landing field to attract more tourists, to whom our government said to have tests that it was a Russian base, but that once taken the island continued constructing. Why I did not cry when Ariel Sharon, today prime minister of Israel, organized and soon it ordered the massacre of two thousand Palestinians in the fields of refugees of Sabra and Shatila. I suppose that one cries only by the own ones. But is this one the reason to demand revenge against that is in against ours? That seems to be what the Americans request. Definitively that is what our government wants, and most of our mass media. In fact we think that we have the right to explode to the poor men of the world for our benefit, only because we shouted to the four winds who we are free and they no?

We will go to the war. Definitively we have the right to persecute to those who our innocent brothers killed. And we will win, definitively. Against Bin Laden. Against talibanes. Against Iraq. Against who is. In this process we will annihilate children who still do not have clothes for the winter that approaches, neither house to protect them, nor schools where to learn why they are guilty, at the age of four or six years. Perhaps the evangelistas Falwell or Robertson will say that their deaths were necessary because they were not Christian, and perhaps somebody of the Department of State to confir to us to me that they were so poor that dead they are better. And soon? We will be able to do what it gives the desire us? With all the new legislations and monitoring that hopes to us, nobody is going away to escape, and our corporative presidents will feel pleased because all those that demonstrated now against the globalizadoras currents will be part of the side of the bad ones. Not more protests in Seattle, QuÚbec nor in Genoa. Peace, to the aim. Until the next time. Who will be then? A already great boy, who survived the slaughter of the Chorrillo. A conscious Nicaraguan girl that their parents were assassinated by called gang members the Contras, trained by the manual of the company, that says that to end a government it is necessary to give him lasts to the town, killing to teachers and doctors to destabilize the pillars of the same one. Or perhaps he is an angry Chilean, who finds out that all her family was exterminated by the Secretary of State of Nixon, Henry Kissinger, that in spite of being a genius of the world-wide policy never could differentiate between Comunism and democratic socialism, or not even nationalism.

When we will learn, the Americans, who while we continue wanting to be owners of the world for the benefit of the few, are going to be called on to us to undergo the consequences? There is no war that can stop the terrorism, not while we ourself we use the terror to reach our goals. For that reason no longer I cry more, and I leave to walk. But I leave and I see people who cry by the firemen who perished and I must return and write this. While I do it there is Powell secretary, saying me that he is well killing these children, these needed beings, who hate to the U.S.A.. because we are civilized and they no. I cried again. And I said myself, when finishing writing this, that did not have to send it: many of my students and colleagues were going to me to hate, to perhaps do damage to me. But when seeing the television I decided again to risk to me. Perhaps, when reading this, one more a person is asked: why there is as much people in the prepared world to die to only give us to prove a little from which we come giving to them from long ago?

Might i add... If you are an American and you voice your opinion contrary to what others think and what the goverment is doing that is NOT un-american!

That is as american as you get!!!! This country was founded on free speech. To slander those that speak out for what they believe and call them un-american is wrong.

We dont need to go back to the 50's where those who had a differant opinion were branded as communists by Joe McCarthy to gain power and discredit them.

My 2 cents.. Listen to both sides with respect. It is the ability listen that will get you the furthest.

Speak to present your veiwpoint... Try not to take those that differ in opinion as a personal atacks.

I agree with you. You dont have to suport this war, you dont have to suport this president. However those troops in Iraq support our country and our freedom, weither you like the war or not.

Not suporting those soldiers is a big diffrence from not suporting the war and the President. Those soldiers are America, they ARE the United States. Look down on our brave men and women, and you look down on our country.

Around campus I have had numerous conversations, debates, and arguments over this war, before it actually broke out. I always respects the other side, I may not agree with many of the arguments they take, or their ideologies.

That respect stops when they talk down on our soldiers. Thats when I go from having a nice argument, to a Mr Guy sort of junk yard dog.

On that note, god bless the 13 Coalition Forces that died last night. 12 in a helecopter crash, one during a resistance in Southern Iraq. You are all heros.

I never called anyone "un-American." This isn't McCarthyism. However, it is interesting that you bring that up.

To anyone interested in learning the facts about the current situation:
Do you know who has been funding the majority of Anti-American protests throughout the States and the World? The "Workers World Party"; to name just one. Do you know who they are? Look it up. I'm not going to do your patriotic duty for you.

And do you find it at all ironic that Saddam has launched a number of missles that he doesn't possess? I know...I know....facts really don't matter. Sorry, I forgot. Let me put it a different way: How do you feel about that? because its all about feelings isn't it?

It's also interesting that Saddam has lit the oil fields when he had that TV interview with CBS and told us that...

HE PROMISED HE WOULD NOT LIGHT THE OIL FIELDS ON FIRE !!!! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Mad]" src="images/icons/mad.gif" />

I'm starting to think he does alot of things that he says he will not do... <img border="0" title="" alt="[Embarrassed]" src="images/icons/blush.gif" />

Not only is Saddam a liar, but he is brutal in a debate. Here's what was reported by a defector on how Saddam deals with people who just disagree with him:

1. Cut off their hands and feet
2. Brutally rape their wife and daughters in front of them
3. Gouge out their eyes so the brutal rapes are the last images they will see and the images are never erased.

How do you feel about that method of winning a debate? Where are the humanitarian protests against the Iraqi regime's treatment of its people?

I believe you can support the me on the line but still openly disagree with the goverments policy.

To be silent is to betray yourself and your country.

Its a fine line....

Visit the yahoo stock baords for examples of what I was talking about. Interesting how you bring it around to a personel level so quickly with your "sorry I forgot" comment.

None of my protests were funded.... I bought my own sign and gas to get down to the marches as did my girl friend... as did the rest of our friends. So our voices cant be discouneted by an asociation with a specific group.

Interesting that after I mention Mcarthyism.. The first reaction is to use a tatic of asocation.

And yes I am not afraid to fight for my country... And no I dont like Sadam.... However there are some issues that I disagree with. And it seems that quite a few people have a problem with them too.

For the record.... I was 100% for the first gulf war invasion and disapointed they stopped short of finishing.

Be cool....
