Maybe it's time for new plug wires? You could have a cold short in one or two of them making cylinder(s) miss...

It's probably time for a tune-up... you might want to do the plugs and rotor/dizcap while you're at it.

Worst case, check your oil on the dipstick for proper color, pull off the oil filler cap and check for light brown residue. Also, have you been monitoring your coolant level? These are a couple of quick checks to make sure you don't have head gasket problems. I only mention this because SAHS has been spreading through our Montero community. Both my trucks got it! (Severe Acute Headgasket Syndrome)
