The other day I was at a stoplight and looked to my left. Next to me was a Gen III. the guy was checking out my Sport and I was checking out his Gen III. Then I look across the street and in the oncoming traffic I saw a Gen I LWB (I'd never seen one), it was in great shape. Then I notice him checking out both of our trucks. All wee needed was the Gen II and a Raider. As we drove off, we just wave as we keep checking out our trucks. At the next light I saw the Gen II, and the Raider the next day. Maybe some day.

BTW, Juan, are you going to be busy May 3rd? I might be able to go to the quarry that afternoon. I'll let you know for sure if things work out.

Are you guys talking about the Badlands quarry or one closer to Rockford? If you have an opening let me know. I might be able to come.

But it was still cool.

Nathan, I'm up for that on the 3rd. Let me know.

Bretwalda, I think he's taling about the one by Dekalb, about 45 min. from Rockford. It's cool if you can come down.

Hmm, must be a not-in-Chicago thing. We have a fair amount of Gen 1 LWB models running around, but few SWBs. The few 2 door Raiders/Monteros that I do see are either in great shape or a rusting mess with something hanging off of them, trying to fall to pieces while driving. Not much in-between. I wonder how many Mitsu dealers are urban based only here in IL.

Out in the suburbs where I work, it's strictly later model Monteros, where a early Gen 2 like mine is rare. Anybody ever come across a year-by-year sales figure for Monteros here in the US?
Someone has info like that posted for Land Rovers on a LR web enthu. website.

I am talking about the one near DeKalb. I think it will be more like an hour from Rockford though. Anyways, the way it looks now, the afternoon/evening will work the best.
bretwalda- if I'm sure this will work out for me, you are welcome to come down, but I don't know if it would be too worthwhile coming down from Milwaukee for just an evening. If you do want to go though, I'll let you guys know when I know for sure. It would be great to explore the area a little bit before the foliage takes over.

I see a lot of Raiders and some SWB Monteros here in town. We also have Gen II and quite a bit of Gen III. Now when it comes to Sports, we have a ton of them. So far though, mine is the only one I have seen that has the external tire mount. So I get a lot of Sport owners looking at mine with a look on there face like "huh".

Nathan, remember I've never been there so I need a place where we can meet. An address or something would be great.

Would you take 39 to 64 or to 38? Either way will work and I can give you good direction to a place we can meet.

could you make it may 5th? I might be able to come that way. That is if you would run with a truck with sissy looking pink stripes.
