Getting the Wheeling Fever
I've searched....There are plenty of chop-top SWB, but does any body have any pics of a LWB GenI with the roof chopped?....I am thinking...(always a dangerous proposition)

Someday, when the wife is in a good mood, or drunk , I want to do this to my Montero.....

I want to take the upper half of the rear door off and weld it in just behind the rear side doors. It won't be open to the cabin, but more like a short pick-up box. The rear lower hatch would still open normally. There is a Cherokee in town that has done this exact thing, it is so sweet......besides it being a Jeep!

Sapper, that rig is sweet....I too have come up with several chopped/topless variants....Need more beer and a plasma torch!

I was thinking of a similar design, but with the roof cut off above the drip edge and a soft-top/ roll bar combo...Booty fab at its best! Actually I think that it sould be pretty simple to accomplish and make it look good too. Just need to see some real life examples...

Toyota87, I had similar thoughts as well. Only mine was to put in three sunroofs with removable glass over each of the seats. Then a snap down soft top similar to a boat's canvas...

Or take the top off all the way down including the windows and then go with a roll bar and the boat canvas concept...
