I only use the engine ECU, and splice the connectors together, but I keep the plugs on either side, or use another plug to keep it plug n' play.

The tach, I used the supra tach and fit it into the 4runner tach, and you can barely tell. Guy in NC said he hooked up the stock tach and it worked. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="images/icons/confused.gif" />

It is better to make torque at high rpm than at low rpm, because you can take advtage of gearing.

I'm using a V6 tach, it works. Not sure if Redline is the same. You can see the V6 printed on it. the 4cyl are blank. Tis is from a Auto 89 4runner. I just swapped the Tac into my cluster. only a few screws nothing hard.

Ok I have one question on this.. I have an 85 runner and was just going to go the 7m-ge route so I wouldnt have to mess with the IC.. but if I dont want to go over stock boost can I skip that part of the process anyway? Basically will I have to put on an IC if I dont intend to do more than stock with the 7m-gte? Also whatg is being done for the cooling on this? From what I gather the mechanical fan should give way to an elctrical.. but what radiator os best? and therefore what fan should I go with?

I have a 91 V6 manual, how difficult would it be for me to put in an 7M-GTE engine in? would it be any different then the 4 cyl engines?
