While I have the engine out was thinking about giving the gearbox a rebuild (200K on it) but folks have been telling me that parts for the diesel 'box are impossible to find. I've heard of several Trooper TD's with bad tranny's. Because I'm a glutton for punishment I'll probably do it anyway, mainly because I hope to drive this car for many many years.<BR>Cruiserman - I'm curious about the parts book you scored. Where did you get it? How much was it? Is it like a dealer microfishe? How about a part number for a piston and a con rod for the 2.3TD. (I'm trying to find parts sources overseas) Thanks!<BR>I drove a 73 Land Rover for years (talk about punishment) a vehicle that is also cursed with 15" wheels. I searched for ages for tall narrow tires. You CAN find 235 85 15 tires if you look hard enough. If you search on Rover sites for tire info I'll bet you find advice in the search for the elusive tire size. (The rest of the world runs 16" rims, even Rovers, only the USA uses 15" for light trucks).
