St. Charles Isuzu told me that regrettably there are no more 1mm oversize pistons for the Trooper 2.3TD to be had in the USA. Does anybody know of another parts source?

Steve,<BR>I'll display my ignorange here...1mm over size would be .040" (appox) larger. That seems like a lot. Is that a "normal" over size for the engine?<BR>Would resleeving the cyclinders to "nromal" diameter be another solution?<BR>Eric

Indeed 1mm is a lot. Pistons were available in .5mm and 1mm oversize. Unfortunately deep scoring on my bore dictates the need for the 1mm oversize. Resleeving could be an option but I fear an expensive one. Probably cheaper to find a used block somewhere.

I am not sure, but I remember, that someone told me, that there are no oversize parts for cylinder\piston group for ISUZU (I am talking about 4JB1 engine) and the only way to fix the problem should be to install new cylinders. The pistons and even piston rings could be reused, if they are in range of allowed size.<P>

Got some! I was able to find a set of 1mm oversize pistons and rings (for the Trooper 2.3TD) across the pond in England. A visiting friend obligingly brought them over for me. For information the US part numbers worked in the UK.
