Anyways Ryno, you got some very bad information from Supraforums. (That's why I often post 7M-related tech questions here--Supraforums is full of kids that don't know what they're talking about.) I added a complete 3" mandrel exhaust from the turbo to the tailpipe, which is rumored to net an increase of 68 hp. I believe it. I used to reach full stock boost (6.8 psi) at 2500 RPMs and now I can reach it by 2100 RPMs. In fact I can hit 10 psi at 2500 RPMs now, so my turbo lag was reduced substantially. The less backpressure you have the quicker the turbo will spool.

BTW, check out the stock downpipe versus my new one. Can you say "R E S T R I C T I V E ?"

Sweet thats what i thougt.. so i reposted the question and got some better answers.. i wsa todl that when he went from 2.5 - 3 in he noticed no lag difference.. i took someones advice on here and got john lunsfords elbow.. i'm going to have 3 inch mandral bent exhaust .. and the 3inch from the turbo to throttle body with that bigass intercooler inbetween ... i need to get some AN fittngs to run my fuel line.. as of right now my fuel filter is directly over top of my motor.. i'm not real secure iwith it being there so i will re run my fuel lines in braided and tuck the filter somewhere up under the frame or what not.. i'm thinking of using heat ducting either aluminum or steel flexable hose some of them are formable and retain shape.. i figure i could use that.. its pressure rated and is good up to 550F so that should be sufficent for the hot side iowuld think.. i was told on supraforums that the temps comming out of the turbo outlet is around 400 or so 440 give or take.

i want to wrap my manifold to reduce temps.. and i like that coating you put on your downpipe.. i think i'm just going to have the exhaust shop make my down pipe and full exhaust all in one.. i was planning on just wrapping the downpipe where it is inside the motor compartment.. to reduce temps .. it wil be in stainless.. but i know that the heat wrap stuff holds water in and sometiems will eat away at the metal.. how much and where did you get it coated?? i'm in so.cal. and i'm verrrrrrrrrrrry anxious to get this truck that has been sittin for 3 months in my drivway runnin again..

thanks for the input and i will keep you all posted as well as some pictures

any more input would be great

thanks again
