well.. its been some time now.. and i finally have my super runner. 85 with the 7mgte, i just got the head rebuilt, and i also just purchased a intercooler. i would like to get some more info on how you went about doing this SuperRunner. i have an 89 7mgte turbo freshly rebuilt. workin on some gauges. i dunno what ones i need. i know a/f but are pyro meters necesary? what about feul pressure? i'm planning on doing the lexus AFM upgrade but that will have to wait. i was thinkin about getting a watre temp maybe not necesary since stock may be just well enough, oil pressure, i'm concerned b/c the stock gauge reads really really low. i don't know if its a difference in sending units or maybe i'm just not getting the pressure i need. i'm planning on doing the oil bypass spring upgrade.

any help on this would be great. some more pictures anythign.

thanks

ryan

These engines only run about 20 pounds at idle, 40 psi while cruising on the freeway, and 50-60 pounds on spirited driving. The 7M-GTE uses a low pressure, high volume lubrication system.

well well... i have been lagggggggggggggging on this truck.. but its about to all come together..

now i'm probably going to be boosting only about 11psi or 12 maybe a little less i haven't decided. i was planning on going with 3inch through and through.. but over on supraforums.com i was told that would increase my turbo lag. it is a stock ct-26 i plan on doing some mods soon but i dunno how soon. lexus afm, injectors, afc,

i have my oil pressure gauge, water temp, a/f, boost. now for the a/f to be accurate.. which they really can't be but more real time.. do i need a wideband o2 sensor? or will the stock be just as good?

also i have all the fuel line i need.. i should really do a search on this but i'm at work and don't have the time.. what size fittings do i need to rerun my entire fuel line from tank to motor.. i need the tank fittings sizes.

is 3 in too much ?
what size fittings for gas tank?

i think thats it

thank you
ryan

Gawd, it's embarrasing to go back and read my old posts. I ended up buying a Supra exactly one week after after those posts. I have learned a lot since then!

Anyways Ryno, you got some very bad information from Supraforums. (That's why I often post 7M-related tech questions here--Supraforums is full of kids that don't know what they're talking about.) I added a complete 3" mandrel exhaust from the turbo to the tailpipe, which is rumored to net an increase of 68 hp. I believe it. I used to reach full stock boost (6.8 psi) at 2500 RPMs and now I can reach it by 2100 RPMs. In fact I can hit 10 psi at 2500 RPMs now, so my turbo lag was reduced substantially. The less backpressure you have the quicker the turbo will spool.

BTW, check out the stock downpipe versus my new one. Can you say "R E S T R I C T I V E ?"

Ken, where did you get that new downpipe? I am interested in the O2 sensor flange that uses what looks to be the stock studs.

Hi Harry,
I bought the downpipe from Suprasport and the product is made by Defcon Motorsports. It is made out of stainless steel but I had it thermally coated by Finishline Coatings to keep the heat in the pipe and out of the engine bay. If you are looking for just the flange, a guy by the name of John Lundsford makes a variety of turbo elbows, stock O2 sensor bungs and various other flanges for mating different turbos to the 7M manifold.

Take a look around: JOHN LUNDSFORD'S WEBSITE.

I bought one of those flanges from LC Engineering and my father used a small piece of tubing and tacked some bolts in from the back side. I see studs sticking out of your downpipe where the 02 sensor connects though, any more close up pictures of that?

I went out and grabbed a pic of it installed on the car:

Thanks Ken, looks good. The one that I got from LC Engineering doesn't put the 02 sensor that far into the exhaust stream.
