Just thought I would share with anyone who's interested in getting a performance muffler for their T100. This is just a muffler swap, not a cat-back system.

I did some research on this forum and the 4Runner forum. Seemd the Magnaflow was a popular choice among the 4Runner crowd for their sound and performance. Assuming it's the same 3.4 engine, I thought it would be a good choice, but after having it installed this morning, I kind of wish I had gone with Flowmaster 40-series as the Magnaflow is almost too quiet. I think it's quieter on a T100 ex-cab because our truck is much longer than a 4Runner. It still sounds good, and seemed to have better acceleration at mid-range, but it wasn't what I had expected. The total cost was $100+tax for parts and labor as they had to weld an extra 6" pipe and 2 extra hangers to make it work.

What I found interesting is that our stock T100 pipe is metric, and its measurement is somewhere between 2.25" and 2.5" (which is not bad for stock).

I will monitor it's gas mileage to see if there's any improvment. I just need to come up with an excuse later for my wife on why I just spent a little over $100 to replace a perfect good muffler. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="images/icons/shocked.gif" />
