I have been thinking about removing the door saver strips on the sides and the T-100 banner on the tailgate. Anyone have any experience with this?

I think with a billet grill and no other badges and strips, it would look pretty Bling Bling... What do you think? I've always benn a "Less clutter the better" type of vehicle guy...

Also, there's not a hole beneath the T-100 badge is on the side is there?

I have removed all the badges on mine except for the one on the grill and want to put a Billet grill in but can't find a picture anywhere with one in. The instructions say you have to cut out the original grill so I am not sure how well it will look. If anybody has seen a T-100 with a billet grill I would appreciate your opinion. Back to your question. The back banner isn't hard to remove but the glue residue is a big pain. Also the side badges are easy but you have glue residue there also. I read somewhere to use fishing line to take the badges off. Thats how I got mine off and it works pretty good. The best stuff I have found to take the glue residue off is made by KleanStrip. I got it at our local parts store. The number on the can is EAD-908. It has "Aircraft Performance Tested & Approved" on the top of the can. It was almost $10.00 for a 14.5 oz can. Some of the other guys have removed their side strips on this board so a search might turn something up. I still have mine on. Hope this helps.

Sorry I didn't make it clear in my first post. No there is no hole under the t-100 badge or on the banner in the back.

Badges? I don't need no stinkin badges.

I removed all of mine useing a few AOL cd's and New Finish liquid wax. Slide the cd between the paint and the adhesive and shave the badge from the truck. This works best when its hot. I used the wax to gradually remove left over adhesive. The tail gate strip has a bunch of foam that needs to be removed before you can get at the glue. It took some muscle but my truck is clean and scratch free... Good luck. I don't know anything about a billet grill but I am looking for a plain old black grill if anyone has one to sell...

I took the T100 emblem off a few years ago. No holes in the sheet metal. Heavy fishing line works really well to remove these. I wrapped it around a couple of wooden dowls to keep from cutting my hand, and made sure the emblem was warmed up.

Getting the Wheeling Fever
Took mine off about 2 months ago, was a real b*tch, but the looks was real worth it...especially the side moldings...makes it look like a new truck. used heavy fishing line and heated up the area with a blow dryer to get enough off to get a good hold on...then just pulled the f*cker off...removed the foam with 3M wax, tar, adhesive remover and rubbed with a rag (just kept rubbing to form a huge adhesive booger, was using my thumb for about 5 minutes until i noticed a HUGE blister, i then went to the rag) - this part was the biatch, as it takes to longest. then used wax to get off the rest. the tailgate banner was the same, but had to use the blow dryer the whole time pulled at the banner.
I was kinda worried that the paint might be different underneath due to fading, but that's not the case...
No holes underneath anywhere...
i took me about 6 hrs total to take off everthing (not 6 straight, lots of beer breaks, prolly would've taken less w/o the beer, but whats the fun in that)
In the end, all the work is well worth it. everyone that had seen the truck when i first got it that sees it now say its a 100% improvement. and with nowhere saying its a T100, or even a Toyota, you could get those weird looks...like a big tacoma, but that's not a tundra? what is that?

I've seen a T w/billet grille, and it does look good...but you have to cut the original grille?

Dankman,

What color is your truck? I have wanted to remove the rear sticker for a couple of years now but I was worried the green would not match up. When I removed a small amount of molding for the fender flares I could not tell any diff. in paint color.

it pewter pearl (dark silvery-metallic grey) there shouldn't be a difference unless the tailgate was re-painted with it on and masked off.

Body Damage is Cool
You guys actually have paint under the decal? The strip on mine was bare metal; the decal was what was colored.
