I need to get a hitch on my T very soon. Here are some of the issues i'm dealing with. Y'all are usually very good with answering all my questions. The dealer wants 169 for a "t" connector. They state that since my truck came Hitchless there isn't enough of room to use and after market "t" connector. Napa wants 70bucks and says "it'll plug right in," ...great, but not according to the dealer. the following link agrees with napa, but again, not the dealer. Bunch of places around town want to hardwire it but i'd rather do it myself and don't want to cut wires. The following link makes me think it's a piece o cake, but no real help or part numbers or anything. My question is...what harness will plug right into my Truck, with out cutting wires, nice and easy like and be ready to go. Flat 4. CAN YALL CLEAR THIS UP!! PLEASE. i'm sure this info will help the whole group!! http://www.4x4wire.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=78;t=000838Thanks in advance it's greatly appreciated. Blatant in tempe~!

I second surlyns post, I am scared to do ANYTHING electrical, and I got a t-one connector from drawtite for about 40, the 2inch hitch (drawtite was about 165) and all you do is unplug one wire snap in the connector, and plug the wire into the connector. Than done. Super easy took 30 minutes, including tucking all the wires, and reading the instructions 7 times (they where very clear, but i am a chicken) It took about 1 hour to mount the hitch....

wtf guys...i'd like to use toyota parts but.....i called all the dealers in and around phoenix, all said 169, told them about your $35bucks and told me NO WAY. Even called the ones in tucson and they are all telling me it was a bad number. I finally spoke to someone who said it's discontinued and the phx dealers are probably hoarding it. He said he knew of no new P/n.
Surly, wanna pick me up a $35 dollar one?
Thanks

i bought that in 1995, but it did not go up that much. msrp was probably $50 at the time. why don't you call carroll at 800-282-3964 and see what he says. tell him scott sent you.

I replaced my Toyota one with a $12 Hoppy.......I just spliced in the new adapter where the old one was. When I took off the mudflaps a while back mud and water was thrown into the passenger side taillight housing from under the truck, that's where Toyota put the adapter box, and shorted out the drivers side brake/signal line in the adapter.......I don't for the life of me see what is wrong with a Hoppy, a Drawtie, or whatever aftermarket if it's cheaper........plus the NAPA one at $70 as well as most posted here are plug in and not cut-n-splice.......the ones on ebay that I listed usually go for about $20-$25 + $6 s/h......

Yeah, I suppose it doesn't matter which one it is, just so long as I don't have to splice... I'd rather it just be "plug n play" That was my original question I guess, which ones will just plug in and are the cheapest.
Thanks again.
