For you people who have done a body lift, is it an afternoon project, or what? Trying to plan ahead.
I have the 2" kit from 4wheelparts.com, working on an 86 Pup.

It took me, by myself, 10 hours in a fully equiped shop. I am not a mechanic by any means. It took me a couple hours messing with a captured nut that spun. Had to cut a hole in the floor to get at it. It was fairly easy job and I'd do it again. If your like me, start on Saturday morning and if things go bad .... well you still have Sunday.
Start spraying rust penetrant on your body mount bolts now, repeat daily. I twisted off 2 bolts and spun 1 nut. Even though I sprayed for 2 weeks.

I'd plan 2 days and try to have a helper if you can. It can be done in shorter time, by yourself, but i'd plan 2 days, 2 people.

It took me 4 or 5 hours to do it by myself. That's also having done it once before, so if you've never done it then it might take longer for you to get the hang of it. I started one evening around 6, got the cab done and bolted by 8. Decided to leave the bed for the next day. Got out around 10 and had the bed done by 12 or 1. That's also with having to go the hardware store and buy bolts since the ones that were supplied were too long. So, could you get it done in an afternoon? Yes, but I would start it on like a Saturday and that'll give you the rest of the weekend if you run into problems.

The pickup should be easier to do than the trooper/rodeo/amigo's due to the fact that you can lift the cab and bed separately. Save your back and pull everything out of the truck that would get in your way and increase weight(seats, toolbox, battery, radiator, carpet, bumpers, etc.) -chris [ May 28, 2003, 07:32 PM: Message edited by: rodeo_chris ]

one problem i had when i lifted my truck was the kit came with 1)wrong bumper bracket or 2)one hole for the bumper bracket was missing. anyhow, i went ahead and drilled and bolted up a new hole to help out. hopefully the 3" BL kit i just ordered will have the correct bracket. Brandon p.s. make sure to check ALL your lines and hoses (i.e. heater hoses, power steering, and anything that is connected to the body and the frame) before you lift it. also, to put the steering extention on, the only time you can put it on is when the drivers side is jacked up. good luck

plan on a week end and a second person helps alott. did my 91 troop. And that captured nut bs sucks, mine was on my mount at my driver side at the back door. Took a couple of hours to cut open the bod then butcher out the S O B. Time and planning, also the hoses going to the heater core take time to extend several people have had them tear if not me included. also after a little time go bacl and retighten ALL your bolts. And my PAW kit bumper brackets i ended up not using. GOOD LUCK
