Back on track we go. The timing belt on the 2.6 is not that hard to change. You do have to remove all of the belts, the fan and shroud, plus any of the other accessories that might be in the way. That gives you access to the cover. The belt is right behind it. If you are semi-mechanically inclined and can follow directions you could do this.

I would suggest replacing the water pump too. It is not behind the cover, but it is right there where you will be. Cheap insurance.
