There actually is an easy way to confirm which tranny you have.

The MUA5 shifter goes straight into the tranny - there is no linkage.

If people are able to go to a short throw version of the T5, then by definition there is external linkage.

Either crawl under your rig and look for the linkage, or alternatively, pull your shifter boot inside and see if the shifter goes directly into the tranny.

IF YOU HAVE THE MUA5, get that Dextron III out immediately. The MUA5 uses motor oil for lubrication.

If you have a 4X2 rather than a 4X4, you may well have the T5.

Most of us here have 4X4s (ever wonder why it is called 4X4wire.com?) so we tend to assume that you have a like rig unless you tell us differently. When I saw that your future plans include drop spindles and 20" rims, I realized that you probably don't have a 4X4.
