If you can get the A340F trans for low price, you could put in a single Crawler and keep the cost manageable. To just put in a A340F and a 4cyl gear driven case, it would be about $500 for the adapter(call Marlin for exact pricing), the cost of the A340F and labor.
See Marln's website for pricing on Crawlers and adapters.
E-mail me direct for more.
HTH,
Phil

------------------
http://pjohnson.netgate.net

SuperRunner,
I may have some bad news. I checked out my service manual on the A340E. It looks like the output shaft is longer than the A340F and H. The shaft goes further into the two-wheel drive tailhousing and has the speedometer gear on it. The speedo gear on the F and H is in the x-fer.
Have you opened the rear of the E trans yet? If it's more than about 3" long, it's probably too long.
Phil
------------------
http://pjohnson.netgate.net

But I was thinking that changing the output shaft should not be too hard, and if I can't change it, there is a place in town who will shorten it for me for a resonable price. If it becomes to big of a pain, I may go with a TH350 or TH400, then all I have to worry about is the bellhousing, and the NP will bolt right up.
Thanks for the info, guess I need to do some research on the tranny.

------------------
http://4x4.4t.com
It is better to make torque at high rpm than at low rpm, because you can take advtage of gearing. ---------------------------------------------------------------- www.supracharged.com1994 4runner - SAS, 38 TSL's, Turbo 7MGTE swap, Turbo Tranny Dual T-case, D44/D60 ront/rear
