Plan ahead he's not real fast, but his stuff is really good. I though the aluminum ones from him were alot beefier than the poly Daystars. They rode the same & the aluminum ones were silent as well. You'll have to ditch the cones though.

Hey Mike. You have me worried now. You say you dropped .75 with the 881's.
Im going to have to keep a close eye on my 880's. If I notice any sag I'll return the front OME'S, stick my stock springs and 2inch cornfed spacers in there. Problem solved.
I'll be talking to ARB tomorrow to see what they have to say about this issue.
I'll let you know.

Maybe I made a mistake on the measurements, but I don't think so. I guess the primary issue is that, measuring from top of tire to wheel well, the distance in front is 1.5" less than the rear.

The hot rod look!

I called ARB yesterday, and the tech told me that 1.5" seemed excessive. I asked him if this was typical, and he said that they get all kinds of lift results -- that it isn't typical, but it isn't unusual (paraphrase). He added that the springs were not designed for 4Runners, which I have heard.

However, if had known about this sag, I would have probably opted for Sway Aways in the front.

I'm a little bit surprised, because I tried to do my homework before buying this, and people on the board had said that they had gotten 2.5" of lift in the front.

Based on my experience, I would tell anyone buying the OME springs all around to just install spacers in front while they're at it.

On a positive side, I still say that the OME HD in front and medium duty in back (with comfort shocks all around) gives me an awesome ride off road. Very comfortable and controlled. I would definitely prefer them with spacers to the stock springs with spacers due to the mushiness of the stock springs, which is bad for wheeling where the terrain wants to bounce you.

I have no first hand knowledge of this but I think/heard that the comfort strut is not quite as long as the HD strut! Springs are the same length HD vs regular the HD is, just that, more HD and does not compress as easily. I could be wrong, Chad

I wouldn't do that because the spacers would probably give it too much lift and might cause damage to the CV's. I didn't install my 1" spacers til after about 6 months and right now I'm probably sitting at 2.75"

notrub - are you implying that the shock (strut?) will affect the lift height?

You _didn't_ say that, so I just want know for sure. The thing is, I have seen this implied one other time (just tried to find the thread and couldn't). Personally, I can't see how shock height/length would affect lift unless the shock was actually too short and was reaching its limit before the bumpstops. But if a slight lift is possible with different shocks, that might be good to know. Conversly, if a set of shocks will reduce lift height, that might be good to know for those who are trying to balance all the factors involved.

Just trying to "keep it comp-li-cated"!

All of the front shocks basiclly the same length, if they are longer the upper a-arm will hit the spring at full droop. You want stock length shocks & a spring or spacer to give you a little lift. 1" to 2.5". Same problem if the spacer moved the shock down. Cornboys don't move the shock, just preload the spring.
