rear end sag #260464 05/24/02 05:12 AM

I'm sure this has been brought up before too. But the rear end sag is the most annoying thing in the world to me. If i get a lift will it fix it? Or do i need to get some heavy duty springs to fix it?

I would have to say that yes some different coils in back could help you with the sagging, I am sure you will get a lot of replies from the people on here who know a lot more than me!!!

If you take the time to search, you can find what you need. Don't come here with an attitude either.

Then just do a search. It is not that hard. The info is there, and we get tired or discussing it 4 times a week.

Edit: Look here for starters.

Get some rear springs through Performance Products, or Downey.

Josh's response with the link has answers:

New technology to fix the sag? Let's see.
There ain't none.
You have: Mass produced coils, custom coils, air bags, and the leaf spring conversion <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="images/icons/wink.gif" /> .
Oh, can't forget about spacers.

The write-ups are pretty recent. They were coordinated by Schaefer, a moderator of this forum, specifically to cover this top since it comes up all the time.

Thank you guys. Those of you who actually posted an answer to my question anyway. And what about NWOR springs?

I have a 94 Runner and I got rid of my sag with Downey heavy duty rear coil springs. I am very happy with the results. They fit right in without any modifications needed.

Hey rocky did you have to crank the torsion bars at all to level out the front or was it level without doing anything?

93burton, I didn't touch the front end. There is a very slight forward rake look now but the clearance between the body and front and rear tires look even to me. I also like the slight forward rake look. Again, it is only a very slight forward rake. I didn't want to raise the front end and have to deal with potential CV joint problems.

Body Damage is Cool
I'll give you guys something new in the sag area.

I tried to order air bags for my 4Runner from Air Lift from three different suppliers. Neither one could deliver because Air Lift is all goofed (not the word I was looking for) up. They have supply problems.

I had figured for $90 I'd test them out. I friend had some air bags on his Silverado (different design). He hated them because they didn't give much travel and made the ride very stiff even with zero psi in them.

So maybe not much loss. My ride sits level but sags a bit with weekend gear. Guess that's why they come higher in the back from the factory, eh?
