<strong>turned out a spark plug wire had burned through..</strong></font><hr /></blockquote><font size="2" face="Verdana, Tahoma, Arial, Helv, Helvetica, Sans">Was it burned from the inside out or the outside in or could you tell?</strong></font><hr /></blockquote><font size="2" face="Verdana, Tahoma, Arial, Helv, Helvetica, Sans">just the jacket was burned and from the shape of the burn it looked like it was from getting too close to my headers or EGR or Reed valve. i could see the silicone and actual wire in the middle. i didn't actually see it (the sparks jumping) for myself, but i knew it was shorting on something metal. i filled it with dielectric grease and wrapped a bunch of electric tape around it to tide me over until my new set of wires got there. it fixed the problem but the tape started to melt into the wire and i didn't know how long i had left before it would ruin the wire altogether. it never got to that b/c my new wires came in just in time.

i don't know if this is what's causing Daz's problem. it's just a possibility i wouldn't overlook.
