hey ya'll,

I will probably be in the market for a new set of tires in the next year, and i like to start shopping/researching early, so I'm considering a set of MTs, possibly BFGoodrich or Procomp. I currently have BFGoodrich ATs and the lack of traction in mud/damp dirt is incredible. The treads fill up instantly then I just have muddy slicks. ugh...

My question to ya'll is, how loud would procomp MTs be on the road? i had a set of Centurian MTs for a few months on my 88 4R, but the noise was unbearable... they screamed like banshees on the hiway. I could harldy hear my stereo at speeds over 50, and conversation was impossible... Now, I figured that was partly because they were cheap tires and therefore cheaply designed and such, but what was odd was that i bought them from a guy who had them on his 95 grand cherokee. i rode and drove that vehicle on the highways many a time, and hardly even knew he had MTs on it [only noticed the feel of the treads at very low speeds.] I imagine the difference was the suspension vibration absorbtion and noise supression material in the vehicle....

So i wanted to see if anyone else has experianced procomp's or BFGoodrich's MTs in a 86-94 stock suspension toyota... what's your experience with stopping on the street in wet/dry conditions, noise while hiway driving, etc..

thanks in advance.
