I have the newer (black) TRD supercharger. TRD recommends changing the supercharger oil every 100K miles. I called Magnuson and talked to a tech there. He said it's actually possible for the oil to be OK to 100K. I asked him about GM recommending to check the supercharger oil level every 15K and change that oil every 30K for some Pontiacs with Eaton M90 S/C's. He said that's overkill, but safe. He also said that our M62's will take 4 oz. of oil and it's perfectly fine to use the GM supercharger oil (comes in 4 oz. bottles) in TRD's superchargers. But TRD puts that orange blob on the S/C oil fill plug to make sure you haven't tampered with it during the time it's still under the 60K warranty.

Well, I remember enough Pontiac forum horror stories about checking S/C oil and it's low or incredibly dirty. So I finally checked mine at 70K. It was indeed low. I suctioned out a little that I could easily reach (looked about like Pepsi), and then refilled it to the bottom of the fill hole. I took out about 1 oz and added about 3 oz. So it was 2 oz low and it only holds 4 oz total! <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif" alt="" /> There's no drain plug, so you have to suction it out a small tube in order to change it.

BTW, Ron S had said that the older silver S/C must be removed to refill the oil.
