OK, I finished checking all connections and fired it up. It is running OK so I guess the connection did'nt go anywhere. I have another question now - I changed my instrument cluster to a SR5 one that has the tach, oil, etc, gauges. I got a sending unit from NAPA but the gauge does not move. Is there a way to test the gauge?

Just thought I'd let you know my 89 has that exact same loose wire. I've looked all over for a matching plug but have found nothing. And I also have A/C. If you figure out what it goes to, let us know.

Troubleshooting oil pressure gauges here. .
