I tried the sensor mod today to get the motor run a bit richer. It was so rich it wouldn't even start after it stalled the first time. 500 Ohm resistor into the water temp. sensor plug. Pulled the EFI fuse, etc... The truck started but coughed quite a bit and idled at 1500rpm. Step on the gas and it would stall immediately. Truck was cold but outside temp around 100 and climbing. I tried taking it for a drive but coudn't even get out of the driveway. So I put everything back to normal. Runs like before.
Does anybody have experience with this mod? Dr.Z's write up was done with a 500 Ohm pot. Shouldn't be any different.
