This is for everyone that wants to put in an aftermarket stereo amp or CD Changer in the back of their Monty without it getting stolen. After getting my amp and CD Changer stolen earlier this Spring from the rear of my Monty I have since devised a clever way to keep the thieves away from my new amp and CD Changer. Mind you this is not hi-tech by any means but if you think about it this is an ingenious way to protect your expensive stereo gear so it doesn't get stolen over and over again.
This is what you do -
Mount all new stereo gear under your back seat
1. That keeps it all out of sight 2. Back seat becomes it's own locker
Then get a 6 ft. Kryptonite motorcycle lock for sale at any Home Depot for $12 and loop the lock between the center anchor and the two metal bars that you have to pull up on to open your back seat. Loop it tight enough in there so the thief won't have any leverage to lift the seat then in turn can not get to your secure stereo equipment.
This is more of a deterrent than anything else but I am sleeping much better now just knowing that the bastard thief is going to have one hell of a time getting my amp and CD Changer out even if he does get into my Monty. My back seat is so locked down now it won't even go up an inch for the thief to be able to look under it. Hope this works out for anyone else that is sick of dealing with stolen car stereo's. Sometimes the low-tech way just seems to work out best.
Good Luck and let me know if this works out for you at all ~
