Yesterday after a real hard rain and hail night i had to climb to the top of one of our mud slide mountains. Made it to the top through mud holes and downed trees and thought i had it made. Then my front end droped in a hole so deep that it was hard to see out of the hole With a little work my 2.7 L did a great job and we got out. This got me to thinking that it's time for a good come-along to be in my tool box. I have chains , cables and a snatch block and don't want to buy a winch. What weight come-along should i buy for my extended cab 2001 stepside Tacoma????? Thanks for any thoughts or ideas on this. Mike

I'm just kidding.....but what you really need is a Trailmaster 6" lift....the holes will seem much smaller

LOL, Yes a lift is nice but around here they are also dangerous for places we go, Roll over is easy. Had a 3.5" Rancho Safarie lift on my Suburban and 16.5 tires and things got to hairy more than once because of the lift. Also had a 10 ton waren winch but i don't want to get into that expense right now.

Thanks BIGMOOI, It looks like it's time to start checking the garage sales and yard sales and maybe a flea market or two Mike

While picking up a load of dirt for my wife I got the truck weighed. It weighed in at 4002 lbs with me in it. I am curious to know what you fellows think would be the right come-along and/or winch for this weight truck? I'm eyeballing the Black Rat 4wd Recovery and would be curious to know how it would do, opinions, thoughts, etc., etc....
