I was having huge problems with my stock asian carb so I did some research and heard nothing but good things about the 32/36 weber carb. So I put one on my 1983 toyota 4x4. I just recently got to test it on some longer incline hills and it stalls out on me. I spent numerious hors adjusting and readjusting but it still will not make it up the hills. Is there anything I can do to this weber, possably a different float system or something.

i'd say lower the float level too. sounds like it's flooding on inclines
i love my weber, so simple. i can count the vacuum lines in my engine on one hand, and i get better gas milage and performance than that piece of junk stock carb

I used to run a Weber and running a fuel press regulator set at 1/2 psi and adjusting the float helped, but not much.

My 81' Celica 22R and 87' 4Runner 22R-E both came with carbs. I know I know...22R-Es are EFI...but some dumbass replaced the EFI intakes with a carbie set up. Anyways...I avoid all the hassles by converting all my rigs over to EFI. No fuss, no muss and the wife puts out more when she sees something as clean and organized as an EFI'd engine compartment! ~Darin
*PS-If'n ya need any carbs parts just scream....My wifey is screaming because they are starting to build up around the house.

Hey, Darin- You should set me up with an EFI conversion for my 20r, maybe my honey would like a tidy engine bay too!

Hot nekkid honey's on a sheetless waterbed...freshly coated in baby oil! Dudn't git any better than that. Bit of advice though...dont do the run and jump approach unless you have adequate clearance between the bed and wall!
If your 20R has its stock head...that could be a PIA to figure out. Im not aware of any EFI intakes that will bolt to the round intake port heads....maybe an 83' EFI lower manifold? lol. Other than that hang up I can put together something that would make that lil bugger scream...and make your sweetie smile with that...ya know...look in her eyes! LOL ~Darin

Thanks boys, I'll give some of this stuff a go. Otherwise I have an extra 22re with donor truck so I might scrap that carberated bullshit and just strap on the efi.

Ya, I'm just funnin' around. I've got a weber 38/38 that's working good (except the mileage ). Maybe go EFI in a couple of years when it's not a DD.

i know DOA racing sells 20R engines with efi. don't know how they do it, probably some monkeying around with the intake and all
