Which OME Coils? #303981 08/20/03 06:10 AM

I'm trying to decide which OME coils to get for my 1998 4x4 Passport. I won't be doing any serious off-roading and I don't want a stiff ride.

DOR recommended the 912(listed under OME Trooper coils) instead the 913.

What are the differences between these two coils?

Can anybody with experience with either coils give me an idea on how they feel and how much realworld lift they provide?

I really don't want to bother Joe with anymore of my many questions.

Thanks.

I'm not 100% sure but I think the 913 coils will give a rodeo a 1.5" lift, while the 912 Coils will give a Rodeo a 2.5" as it's a taller coil.

If the coils are the same as a 99 trooper the 912's are great.I use them with the Rancho 9k and it is an awesome ride. There is also a 919 but it is much firmer.I am not familiar with the 913.The 912 will give you an inch and a half.

Both the 912 and the 913's will make your ride a bit stiffer, but the 913's, I was told by ARB, would be a closer match to what you have already. The 913's will raise your Passport about 1-1.5", while the 912's are a bit stiffer and will raise your truck 2-2.5".

Why bother with all that work & money then? Especially if you don't want a stiffer ride.

Thats the Ticket!
Ther's no getting around a stiffer ride if your gonna use springs for lift . If you want to maintain a mushy suspension while gaining lift you could try going the spring spacer route . I too had pondered this very issue and thought the factory ride was a bit too mushy. I am glad I listened to Matt @ Indy 4x went with the 912's and softride shocks. You can do a lot of suspension "tuning" by the type of shock absorber you use.
Good Luck!
