I was checking my bearings to see if they needed re-packed or replaced and noticed some serious differences from the haynes manual and my 91 Trooper. When I removed the bolts from the hub cover assembly (auto lock hub) all I removed following was: drive clutch assembly, inner cam, lock washer and locknut before the outer bearing. There wasn't a snap-ring before the drive clutch assembly as pictured in the manual.
Maybe this is also the loud, mysterious rattle in my front end that I cannot diagnose? <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/notooth.gif" alt="" />
